My art journey started as a three-year-old drawing during church and at home on any flat surface.
I took art classes in middle school and every art class Snake River High School offered. It was a total of ten classes with a range of art mediums. I have had many great teachers throughout my life who have shaped me into the artist I am today! They saw my potential and took the extra time to share their knowledge with me. Recently I was invited to attend a watercolor portrait workshop taught by Ted Nuttall at the Scottsdaleās Art Academy in Arizona. This workshop changed my water color painting life. It opened the world of painting the human face. I love painting people, because as I paint I think about that person and the memories I have with them. My love grows as I spend hours looking at little details that make up the face.
I love sharing the things I have learned and continue to learn daily with my elementary art students at Black Canyon Elementary School.
My art journey for the future? I hope to continue teaching art: improving my skills, continuing to share my art with others, and enjoy the process of creating art.
